Membership is open to all residents of South Africa interested in miniature fine art.

Our annual subscription is R180 for 2022 for either artist or patron.  The year will run from the beginning of January to the end of the December of the same year. The Society holds an annual exhibition in Johannesburg, and occasionally we have the opportunity of exhibiting more often.  We are affiliated to the WFM, whose international exhibition takes place every four years in a different country, and our members are able to submit miniatures through MASSA for their exhibitions. Please note: Only those paid-up members may submit work for selection and exhibition. Selection for exhibition is made by a suitably qualified committee, which will provide a brief critique of each un-selected work.

Members will receive informative newsletters throughout the year. When possible regular meetings, critiques and workshops are held.  These are particularly organised in order to help and encourage new members. You can download our Membership Form and little Green Rule Book here.

Overseas Participation

Some of our artists have gone on to enter miniature artworks in overseas countries, especially leading miniature art societies in the USA and the UK, where not only have their artworks been accepted, but they have also won numerous awards and recognition for their outstanding works in miniature art. Our members have also won prizes on the various WFM exhibitions which are held every 4 years in different countries.

The World Federation of Miniatures

We are very proud to have hosted the 6th World Federation of Miniaturists exhibition at Hyde Park Corner in February 2016 where three of our members won “awards of excellence”.
